I couldn't help but notice that you have couplings on your bike. I've been looking at possibly having them installed on my old bike so I can use it as a travel bike, but the few people i have spoken to about it tell me that only bike specially made for couplings work properly with couplings. So did your bike come with couplings? Or did you have then put on after-market?

BTW - soo cool youre going to Paris! You lucky bastard!

It doesn't take a "special" bike but there are restrictions on what kind of bike you can retrofit.

First off the only materials that currently can be used are steel or titanium. Aluminum could be done but from what I'm told the reason is that the coupler goes inside the tube and that aluminum tubes come in too many sizes... Also there seems to be some issues with fracturing of tubing when cut that they dont want to be liable for... Aluminum bikes that are ridden a lot only have a 5 year lifespan of safety on the frame anyway...

The only other restriction is that the tubes should be round and not oval. My bike had an oval down-tube but if you look close you can see that Bilenky cycles modified the downtube to make it work...
